Champagne Marie-Noëlle Ledru is a small family estate (récoltant-manipulant) in Ambonnay, a Grand Cru village on the southern Montagne de Reims.
- History: Marie-Noëlle Ledru comes from a family of vignerons; the family became an independent producer in 1946. She took over the estate in 1984 and retired after the 2016 harvest, so her wines are now scarce.
- Vineyards and terroir: The holdings were small: about two hectares of Pinot Noir in Ambonnay and half a hectare of Chardonnay in Bouzy, on steep chalk slopes with vines averaging around 40 years old. The vineyard was farmed as naturally as possible, without herbicides or pesticides.
- Methods and style: She vinified in enamel and stainless steel tanks, allowed full malolactic fermentation and avoided filtration and cold stabilisation. Vintage wines aged five years on the lees; every bottle was riddled and disgorged by hand, with low or zero dosage.
- Cuvées: The wines are predominantly Pinot Noir-based and entirely Grand Cru. The top cuvée is Cuvée Goulte, 100% Ambonnay Pinot Noir, made only in the best years.
