Legret & Fils is a family estate in Talus-Saint-Prix, where four generations of winegrowers have succeeded one another. In 1965 Jean-Pierre and Jacqueline Legret, récoltants-manipulants, founded the estate Champagne Jean-Pierre Legret. Their son Alain joined in 1986; in 2000 the cellars were enlarged and a press installed. In 2006 Alain took over the estate and, with his wife Sandrine, created the Legret & Fils range.
Vineyards The estate covers 5 hectares in four communes: Talus-Saint-Prix and Oyes (south-facing slopes on clay-silt, for Meunier and Pinot Noir) and Sézanne and Barbonne-Fayel (limestone subsoil, for Chardonnay). The estate has been certified organic since the 2022 harvest. It works on vegan principles, with no insecticides or herbicides, and since 2020 has run an agroforestry project with trees and shrubs among the vines.
Method After hand-picking and gentle pressing, the first fermentation takes place in stainless-steel tanks. Filtration uses biodegradable cellulose filter sheets.
