Lagille (Domaine Lagille) is a family estate in Treslon, in the Montagne de Reims. The family has lived in Treslon since 1818 and has been growing vines since the 17th century; alongside viticulture it is also an arable farm. Maud and Vincent's parents took over the estate in 1974 and first worked through a cooperative; in 2004 they installed their own press and vats. Vincent joined in 2012 and from 2017 set out deliberately to make terroir wines.
Vineyards The estate covers 7.20 hectares: 55% Meunier, 30% Chardonnay and 15% Pinot Noir. Around 95% of the vines lie in or around Treslon. Since 2019 the entire area has been in conversion to organic viticulture.
Method A hallmark is working with a single grape variety per cuvée; only the Grande Réserve is a blend. Vincent opts for minimal dosage, partial vinification in barrels and, for the single-plot cuvées, fractioning of the press juice.
Champagnes
- L'Inattendue and the rosé Fleur de Meunier (both 100% Meunier)
- La Grande Réserve (one third each of the three grapes), Au Fil du Temps and Millésime
- Vincent's single-plot cuvées: Les Bergères, La Garenne, La Garenne Rosé de Saignée and Le Mont en Peine
