Champagne‌ Guillemont is a family business in Damery (Marne valley) that has been active since 1889 and has been run since 2025 by oenologist Antoine Guillemont, who is taking over the estate from his father Pascal.

History

• The roots of the house go back to Edmond Lemaire and Arthur Dessières (Antoine's great-great-grandparents).
• In 1947 Henri and Mariette Lemaire started trading as Champagne Henri Lemaire.
• In 1963 their son Michel and his wife Claudette expanded the estate by planting new vineyards.
• In 1993 Nathalie and Pascal Guillemont took over the house and diversified the range.
• Since 2025 Antoine Guillemont has run the business, bringing his international experience.

Vineyards and Terroir

• The estate has 6 hectares of vineyards located in Damery and Cumière.
• The soil is argilo-calcaire (clay-limestone) and the slopes face south.
• Four grape varieties are used: Pinot Meunier, Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and the rare Petit Meslier.
• The terroir is certified with the Haute Valeur Environnementale (HVE) label.

Winemaking

• The harvest is entirely by hand and selection is made plot by plot.
• Traditional pressing is used, in an oak press with a capacity of 4000 kg.
• Antoine and Pascal Guillemont personally oversee every stage of vinification.
• The champagnes age in oak barrels, vats and the house's cellars.

The house produces several cuvées with specific compositions:
