Champagne Georges Laval is a family estate in Cumières, a Premier Cru village on the right bank of the Marne, about five kilometres from Épernay.
- History: Georges Laval began bottling estate champagne in 1971. His son Vincent Laval took over the business in 1996.
- Vineyards and terroir: The small estate has been farmed organically since the early 1970s and is certified by Ecocert. Since 2010 part of the vineyard has been worked with a horse.
- Approach and style: Grapes are picked ripe, with little or no chaptalisation. The wines ferment with indigenous yeasts in barrel, are bottled late and are mostly released as Brut Nature, with low sulphur. The style is dry and racy rather than powerful.
- Cuvées: Alongside the Cumières 1er Cru, the range includes single-plot cuvées such as Les Longues Violes, Les Chênes, Les Hautes Chèvres and Garennes.
