Follet Ramillon is a family estate in Belval-sous-Châtillon, in the Vallée de la Marne, born of the union of the Follet and Ramillon families. The business was set up by Joël and Nicole and became a vigneron indépendant in 2000. Today the brothers Yannick, Nicolas and Jérémy run the estate, from vineyard to sales.
Vineyards The 4.5 hectares lie in the Vallée de la Marne (Belval-sous-Châtillon, Trélou-sur-Marne) and the Montagne de Reims (Ville-Dommange and Marfaux), on chalk and marl soils, planted with Chardonnay, Meunier and Pinot Noir. The estate is certified VDC and HVE, the plots have been grassed over since 1995, and insecticides and anti-rot treatments have been banned for many years.
Approach
- Vinification: without chemical products; all vintages are aged for six months in barrel, reserve wines in barrel or foudre.
- No fining, filtration or accelerated stabilisation.
- Long ageing: at least 4 years for the Nature, 5 years for Terroirs and 6 years for the vintages, plus 6 to 12 months after disgorgement.
- Dosage: 0 to 5 g/l, making all the champagnes extra brut.
Champagnes Including Terroirs, Brut Nature, Blanc de Rosé, Solera 220, Les Pinots 2018, Le Chardonnay 2018, Le Meunier 2019, Harmonie 2015 and Le Rosé, alongside a red Coteaux Champenois.
