History‌ Champagne De Venoge was founded in 1837 by the Swiss Henri-Marc de Venoge in Mareuil-sur-Ay, after which the house quickly moved to Épernay. The house is known as an innovator for designing the first illustrated label in the history of champagne (1838). After the takeover by Joseph de Venoge in 1845 the iconic Cordon Bleu symbol was introduced, referring to the Order of the Holy Spirit. The house is currently owned by the Lanson-BCC group and is based in the Villa Gallice on the Avenue de Champagne.

Vineyards and Terroir The grapes come from grand cru and premier cru vineyards in the Champagne region, in particular in the communes of Ay and Verzenay. The house emphasises the specific characteristics of the terroir and uses the three classic grape varieties: Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier. The vineyards are managed with attention to sustainability, including the use of organic and biodynamic farming methods.

Approach The grapes are harvested by hand and carefully selected. In production De Venoge uses exclusively the first pressing (the cuvée) for maximum finesse, avoiding the second pressing (taille). Fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks or oak barrels, followed by a long ageing in the cellars, sometimes for years, before the champagnes are disgorged. The house combines traditional craftsmanship with innovation in vinification and ageing.

Champagnes The Cordon Bleu Extra Brut is the flagship and best-selling champagne, a blend of 50% Pinot Noir, 25% Pinot Meunier and 25% Chardonnay. The Grand Vin des Princes (or Cuvée des Princes) is the prestige cuvée, originally introduced in 1864 as a tribute to the Princes of Orange, available in variants such as Blanc de Blancs and Blanc de Noirs. Other notable cuvées are the Louis XV (a prestigious vintage champagne) and the Cuvée Vingt Ans (an extra brut that ages for 20 years). The house also produces a Rosé Champagne and various demi-sec and brut select variants.
