Champagne Christophe Hugot is a wine house based in Chavot-Courcourt (51530), on the edge of the coteaux sud d’Épernay, and is a family business founded on 2 May 2006. The wine is produced by Christophe Hugot, a passionate winegrower who strives for unique flavours and aromas by combining his traditional heritage with innovative vinification techniques.
The house's approach is characterised by an ultra-reasoned (ultra raisonnée) or near-organic farming practice. At the heart of their unique approach is the vinification of their "Cuvées de l'œuf" in oval tanks (ovoid vessels), a method that is unique in the Champagne world. This technique ensures a natural circulation of the must, resulting in unfiltered champagnes with more subtle, more elegant and more refined aromas.
The house offers a diverse portfolio of champagnes, ranging from single-variety (one grape variety), plot (single vineyard) and single-vintage to classic blends. Each cuvée is crafted with precision and passion. For visitors, the house offers cellar visits in small groups (maximum 10-12 people), during which one can see the unique oval tanks, the cellar and the press centre, followed by a tasting on site.
