Charbaux Frères is a récoltant-manipulant in Congy, a family of winegrowers since the 19th century. Champagne Charbaux Frères came into being in 1945, when two brothers made the first bottles after the Second World War. In 1950 Simone and Raymond set up the family business and began selling the champagne; today Sabine and Xavier, the third generation, carry on the work.
Methods
- The grapes are picked by hand and taken to the press in perforated 45-kg crates.
- Vinification in oak vats.
- The bottles age for at least three years in cellars kept at 11 °C; riddling is done partly by hand on pupitres and partly mechanically.
Champagnes The range includes Carte Blanche, Blanc de Blancs, Vieille Réserve, Rosé, Pur Chardonnay and Millésime.
