Viviers-sur-Artaut is a wine village in the Aube department (10), in the Côte des Bar, in the Barséquanais, the area around Bar-sur-Seine. The village has no cru status.
- History: above the village stands the Prieuré de Viverie, a former Benedictine priory that was once linked to the abbey of Montiéramey. The building has medieval cellars and has been restored as a wine-growing business.
- Vineyards: as throughout the Côte des Bar, pinot noir is the leading grape, complemented by chardonnay, on calcareous marl.
- Character: the champagnes are ripe and fruity, with the structure of pinot noir.
- Producers: the Prieuré de Viverie is the wine tourism centre of the Grandpierre family (Champagne Robert-Grandpierre), which offers tours and tastings there.
