Fontette is a small village in the Côte des Bar, in the Aube department, in the Barséquanais in the vicinity of Bar-sur-Seine. The village has no cru classification.
- Vineyards: as everywhere in the Côte des Bar, pinot noir is the main grape, alongside chardonnay, planted on limestone marl.
- Character: the champagnes are ripe and fruity, with the round power of pinot noir from the Aube.
- Producers: Fontette is best known as the headquarters of the Charles Collin cooperative, founded by growers from the Aube and named after its principal founder. Its members process grapes from a large area; the cooperative's wines include an extra brut based on pinot noir. Cristian Senez is also based in the village.
