Étoges lies in the Marne department, in the valley of the Petit Morin, between Épernay and Sézanne, on the south-western side of the Côte des Blancs. The village has no cru classification.
- Vineyards: on the slopes of the Petit Morin, chardonnay and meunier are the main varieties, complemented by some pinot noir. Besides chalk and clay, the soils also contain flint.
- Character: the champagnes are fresh and fruity; cuvées with a high proportion of chardonnay are common here.
- Producers: Étoges is home to Borel-Lucas and Ruffin, among others, as well as Bression-Salmon.
- Sight: the moated Château d'Étoges was built in the early seventeenth century by the Counts of Anglure and is now a hotel.
