Champillon lies in the Marne department, on the slope above Dizy, a few kilometres north of Épernay in the Grande Vallée de la Marne. The village has Premier Cru status.
- Location: the vineyards lie high on the southern flank of the Montagne de Reims, between Hautvillers and Dizy, with a sweeping view over the Marne valley. Above the village, the vineyards border the forest of the Montagne.
- Vineyards: pinot noir, meunier and chardonnay are all three grown here on chalk and limestone soils.
- Character: the champagnes are balanced, with ripe fruit and freshness.
- Producers: Autréau de Champillon and Carbon, among others, are based in the village. On the edge of Champillon there is also the well-known hotel-restaurant Royal Champagne.
