Champagne Alexandre Méa-Devavry is a family estate in Champillon, a Premier Cru village overlooking the Vallée de la Marne.
- History: The family has worked the slopes of Champillon since 1920. Alexandre Méa, the fifth generation, took over the estate from Gisèle Devavry-Méa and carries this heritage forward.
- Vineyards and terroir: The estate includes Premier Cru and Grand Cru plots, among them sites in Champillon, Hautvillers, Romery, Sermiers and Sézanne. The three classic grapes are grown: Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier.
- Methods and style: Malolactic fermentation is systematically blocked in order to preserve pure, crisp fruit.
- Cuvées: The range includes a Blanc de Blancs, a Blanc de Noirs Grand Cru and vintage wines such as 2016. Alexandre Méa also created the Cuvée Carbon, in a carbon-coated bottle whose design he registered; this Champagne is only available in large formats (magnum, methuselah and nebuchadnezzar).
