Champagne Yves Couvreur is a family business in Rilly-la-Montagne (Montagne de Reims) that has produced champagnes since 1644, with the current operation run by François and Yves Couvreur since 1984. The estate has 6.70 hectares of vineyards divided over three Premier Cru villages: Rilly-la-Montagne, Montbré and Taissy, and produces approximately 30,000 bottles per year.
The working method is artisanal and fully Vigneron Indépendant, with the grapes harvested ripe and the entire process taking place on site. The estate has been HVE (Haute Valeur Environnementale) certified since April 2014, which includes environmentally friendly practices such as water saving, limited nitrate use and preservation of biodiversity.
The champagnes are based on the three classic grape varieties: Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and Pinot Meunier. The product line includes both classic blends and single-variety cuvées, including:
- Sélection: 100% Chardonnay.
- Audace: 100% Chardonnay (originally introduced by Yves' father in 1955).
- Prestige: 50% Chardonnay and 50% Pinot Noir.
- Expression: 100% Pinot Noir.
- Rubis Rosé: Made with 15% red wine and 85% white wine.
Visitors can visit the cellars and vineyards for demonstrations and tastings in French, English, German or Spanish.
