Champagne Yannick Prévoteau is a family business in Damery (Vallée de la Marne), founded in 1996 but with a winegrowing tradition spanning five generations. The current operation is carried by the brothers Yannick and Eric Prévoteau, who took over the land of their father Gérald.
Vineyards and Terroir
The estate manages approximately 10 hectares of vineyard, divided over 63 plots in nine villages (including Ay and Pierry). The soil is mainly argilo-calcareous. The business is certified as an Exploitation Viticole de Haute Valeur Environnementale (HVE) and follows a sustainable viticulture policy.
Working Methods
Prevoteau is known for its strict vinification principles:
- No malolactic fermentation: This guarantees extra freshness and liveliness in the wine.
- Parcel-by-parcel vinification: Grapes are processed plot by plot to preserve the identity of each terroir.
- No cold treatment: The wines undergo no filtration or cold stabilisation, which contributes to authenticity.
- Production volume: Approximately 80,000 bottles per year.
Champagnes and Ranges
The champagnes are divided into two lines:
- Les Classiques: The historic line, including Affinity (blend of Pinot Noir, Meunier and Chardonnay, partly aged in wood and via a solera method) and Amandine (Blanc de Blancs).
- Les Confidentiels: A more luxurious, limited line with champagnes without filtration, aged in wood or as single-variety versions, such as Cuvée Marius (Brut Nature) and Solera Intemporelle.
Visitors can visit the cellar for demonstrations and tastings at 4 bis avenue de Champagne in Damery.
