Champagne Vincent Bliard is an organic wine house in Hautvillers (Champagne, France), located at 46 rue des Buttes. The Bliard family has applied organic farming principles since the 1960s (officially certified since 1970), under the leadership of the current generation Florence and Antoine Bliard-Bocquet, who continue the work of their grandparents Jean and Hélène.
The estate manages a 4-hectare vineyard with 100% organic certification, growing the grape varieties Pinot Meunier, Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. The vinification is characterised by minimal intervention: no enzymes are used, fermentation often proceeds via indigenous yeasts, and the champagnes age for one year in wooden casks (foudres and barrels). There is no filtration, fining or cold treatment, and only a very light addition of sulphite during the harvest.
The product line includes the following cuvées, among others:
- Les Fondamentaux: A First Cru blend of three grape varieties, a symbol of the organic roots.
- Franche Admiration: A powerful, tannin-rich cuvée that highlights the freshness and elegance of the terroir.
- Libre comme l'air: A First Cru rosé that radiates creative freedom and contrast between tannins and freshness.
- Sylve: A gastronomic champagne with a long ageing and distinct wood notes.
- Sempiternel: An eco-responsible cuvée with labels made of recycled organic materials.
Visitors can, by appointment, be given a tour of the vaulted cellars and taste, with tours lasting an average of 60 minutes and available in French and English. Annual production is approximately 12,000 bottles.
