Thierry Griffon is a family estate in Les Mesneux, in the heart of the Montagne de Reims. In the 1980s Thierry Griffon and his wife Dominique set out to rebuild and run the family vineyard. Their daughter Anne-Laure returned at the age of 35, after several years in business, to take over the estate and aims to develop new, more sustainable practices. The estate holds the Vignobles & Découvertes wine tourism label.
Vineyards The estate covers 6.5 hectares of Premier Cru, facing due south, on rich clay-limestone soil, planted with Pinot Noir, Meunier and Chardonnay.
Champagnes The estate makes nine cuvées, with long ageing sur lattes:
- Brut Tradition Premier Cru (also as Demi-Sec)
- Réserve (6 to 8 years)
- Blanc de Noirs (5 to 7 years) and Blanc de Blancs
- Extra-Brut (1.5 g/l)
- Rosé
- Millésime 2013 (11 years sur lattes)
- Symphonie (10 years) and Ocarina (vinified in a foudre, a large oak cask)
Visitors can book tours, tastings and walks through the vineyard.
