Champagne Roger-Constant Lemaire is a family business in the Vallée de la Marne (France), founded in 1860 by Désiré Lemaire in Hautvillers and later established in Villers-sous-Châtillon by his grandson Roger-Constant Lemaire in 1945. The fifth generation runs the estate, which specialises in rare and atypical champagnes.
The vineyards cover 12 hectares on the southern bank of the Marne, with an argilo-calcareous soil and the grape varieties Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and Pinot Meunier. The family takes an ecological approach (HVE-certified since 2018) without pesticides or chemical fertilisers, but with the use of seaweed and hand harvesting.
The unique working method includes vinification without malolactic fermentation, without filtration and without fining, which results in champagnes with high freshness, minerality and a low sugar content (maximum 6 g/l). The champagnes age for 4 to 6 years in oak barrels or stainless steel.
Well-known champagnes include the Cuvée Trianon 66 Brut (dosage 0-7 g/l) and the Champagne Les Hautes-Prières 2013, which won awards at the Chardonnay du Monde 2025. The estate is known for its authentic flavour profile and sustainability.
