Pointillart et Fils is a family house in Écueil, west of Reims on the Montagne de Reims. Ernest Pointillart was the first of the family to grow vines; in 1946 his grandson Jean founded Champagnes Pointillart et Fils. His son Philippe enlarged the estate and focused on selling its wines; since 2006 the next generation has run the estate, now the fourth generation.
Vineyards The vineyard covers 6 hectares on the chalky Premier Cru terroir of Écueil, planted with Pinot Noir, Pinot Meunier and Chardonnay.
Methods The plots are farmed using sustainable (lutte raisonnée) practices, with grass cover and ploughing. Three to five years pass between harvest and final corking.
Champagnes The range comprises a Brut Premier Cru, a demi-sec, the Brut Ernest Sélection, the Cuvée de Rosé, a Brut Millésime, the Crépuscule Blanc de Blancs and the Cuvée Prestige Rencontre, the flagship of the house.
