About Champagne Pointillart et Fils

Pointillart​‌​ et Fils is a family house in Écueil, west of Reims on the Montagne de Reims. Ernest Pointillart was the first of the family to grow vines; in 1946 his grandson Jean founded Champagnes Pointillart et Fils. His son Philippe enlarged the estate and focused on selling its wines; since 2006 the next generation has run the estate, now the fourth generation. Écueil lies in the Petite Montagne de Reims, south-west of Reims (Marne department). The village has Premier Cru status. Vineyards: the soils here are lighter, with sand and clay over the chalk.
