Champagne Pierre Deville is a family estate in the grand cru village of Verzy, in the Montagne de Reims. The Deville family has been involved in grape growing for four generations.
- History: Since 1963 the family has made its own champagne under the Pierre Deville label. Christophe and Isabelle Corbeaux have run the estate since 2000; their son Alban, the fourth generation, came on board in 2017 with the aim of making champagnes with their own identity.
- Vineyards and terroir: The estate covers five hectares, planted with 60% Pinot Noir and 40% Chardonnay. Alban began converting the vineyards to organic and biodynamic practices.
- Approach and style: The wines are fermented with indigenous yeasts, sulphur use is strictly limited and dosage is low or absent.
- Cuvées: With the Copin line (Copin Chardonnay, Copin Pinot Noir and Les Copins) Alban made his own mark. Gault&Millau describes the Copin Pinot Noir as an extra brut with saline notes and aromas of blackcurrant. The house also makes, among others, a Rosé de Macération.
