Champagne Petit Clergeot is a small estate in Polisot, in the Côte des Bar (Aube), run by Paul-Bastien Clergeot, built around a pure and uncompromising expression of pinot noir.
- History: When Paul-Bastien Clergeot took over the estate in 2017, he formulated his manifesto: no blending of different sites and no mixing of vintages.
- Vineyards and terroir: The vineyards lie in Polisot, Balnot-sur-Laignes and Les Riceys, on clay, limestone and chalk. He also farms plots in Montgueux, on chalky and siliceous soils renowned for their chardonnay.
- Approach and style: The estate is farmed organically. Each cuvée comes from a single plot and a single vintage; the wines are generally bottled without dosage.
- Cuvées: Chevry comes from a single plot of pinot noir planted in 1975, alongside the river. Other cuvées include Les Commes, Haut Revers du Chutat from Montgueux, Le Gang des Vieilles and a rosé.
