Champagne Michel Remy is a wine house in Ambonnay (Grand Cru, Montagne de Reims) that has produced exclusively Grand Cru champagnes for two generations. The grapes come from the best terroirs, including the 100% Grand Cru village of Ambonnay.
The champagnes are produced using the méthode traditionnelle and are characterised by:
- Composition: Blends of Pinot Noir and Chardonnay, often with a high percentage of Pinot Noir (e.g. 76% Pinot Noir, 24% Chardonnay for the Brut).
- Dosage: Low dosage, ranging from 8 g/l to 9 g/l (Brut and Extra-Brut).
- Profile: Fresh, elegant tones with notes of red and white berry fruit, described as "Champagne de Coeur".
Some specific cuvées are:
- Brut Grand Cru: Golden yellow, with a nose of berry fruit and a structured finish.
- Brut Rosé Grand Cru: Delicate pink colour with red berries, made from 86.2% Chardonnay and 13.8% Pinot Noir (vinifié en rouge).
The house emphasises quality and terroir, with a focus on the characteristic freshness of Chardonnay and the power of Pinot Noir.
