Champagne J-P Gaudinat is a family business based in Festigny (Vallée de la Marne), which has been producing champagnes for 9 generations. Since 2004 the business has been run by Tony Gaudinat, who combines traditional knowledge with a modern, environmentally conscious approach (recognised with the HVE label / Haute Valeur Environnementale).
Vineyards and Grape Varieties
The wine estate covers 12 hectares and uses the three main champagne grape varieties:
- Meunier: Accounts for about 65% and provides suppleness and a rustic character.
- Pinot Noir: Adds power and body to the champagnes.
- Chardonnay: Provides freshness and is the only white variety allowed to bear the Champagne appellation.
Winemaking and Philosophy
The Gaudinat family follows a traditional but modern policy, with respect for the environment and the soil. They consciously choose quality over quantity, limiting production volumes to guarantee richer and denser cuvées. Tony Gaudinat works on sustainable viticulture and continues to implement innovative, eco-responsible processes.
