Champagne Jean-Marc Vigreux-Frère is a family business based in Cauroy-lès-Hermonville (near Reims), established as a brand in 1985, although the family has been running a winegrowing business since 1981. The house is known for its small, quality-focused production without distribution through supermarkets, with exports to New Zealand, among others.
History and Family
The origin lies with Bernard Vigreux, whose vineyards were taken over by his son Jean-Marc in 1981. In 1995 Jean-Marc began selling all of their champagne under the name Jean-Marc Vigreux-Frère, together with his wife Nadine. Today the business is run by their children: Dimitri (co-manager and cellar processes), Claire (project development) and Anne-Laure.
Vineyards and Winemaking
The winegrowing business makes use of the local terroir, with the influence of soil, climate and relief central to vinification. The approach covers the entire process from viticulture to champagne production, with attention to the specific methods for both white and rosé champagnes. Production remains small-scale to guarantee quality, with direct sales and tastings in its own cellar.
Champagnes and Visits
The range includes several cuvées, including:
- Brut (non-vintage)
- Rosé
- Blanc de Blancs (vintage)
- Premier Cru
The house offers various visit and tasting options, ranging from a short discovery tour with a flute of Brut to an extensive "Prestige" visit with tastings of several cuvées. Visitors can visit the vineyards and cellar by appointment to see the production process live.
