Champagne Jeangout is a family business, founded in 1928 in Rilly-la-Montagne (Montagne de Reims), which has been run by Didier Jeangout since 1983 and now spans the fourth generation (with son Romain). The estate combines traditional champagne methods with a strong focus on sustainability; the vineyards have been fully organically certified since 2023 and HVE-certified (Haute Valeur Environnementale) since 2015.
The vineyards cover about 4 hectares on clay-limestone soils, which gives the wines minerality and freshness. The house is known for its diamond-shaped labels as a symbol of eternity and, in addition to tastings, offers chambres d'hôtes (guest accommodation). Visitors can explore the cellars and vineyards by appointment (opening hours Mon-Sat: 08:30-18:00).
The champagnes include various cuvées, including:
- Brut Premier Cru: A classic blend of Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and Pinot Meunier.
- 100% Meunier: A pure expression of this grape.
- Blanc de Blancs: Made from 100% Chardonnay, sometimes with oak ageing.
- Rosé de Saignée: A rosé made by maceration, awarded a gold medal at the Vinalies Internationales.
The address is 3 Rue Gervais, 51500 Rilly-la-Montagne.
