Champagne Jean Despret is a family business in Les Riceys (10340) that has been producing champagne for three generations, with roots going back to the 8th century (711) in the region. The winegrowing is culture raisonnée (balanced) and makes use of the rare argilo-calcaire soil that allows three AOC statuses: Champagne, Rosé des Riceys and Coteaux Champenois.
The champagnes are produced on the estate (producteur-récoltant-manipulant) and traditionally age on laths in the cool cellars of the estate. The range includes Brut, Extra Brut, Demi-sec, Rosé and special cuvées. Visitors can visit the estate (Mon-Fri 9:30-11:45 & 13:45-17:45) for demonstrations, cellar visits and tastings in its own tasting room.
