History: Champagne Henri Goutorbe is a fourth-generation family business based in Aÿ, a recognised Grand Cru village in the Champagne region, only 3 km from Épernay. The business began at the start of the 20th century as a pépiniériste (nursery) run by Émile Goutorbe, who sold vines; his son Henri expanded the activities into wine production after the Second World War. Today the cellars, which date from the 17th century, are managed by René Goutorbe and his children Étienne, Bertrand and Élisabeth.

Vineyards and Terroir: The estate manages 22 hectares of vineyards spread over eight villages, with its core in Aÿ (Grand Cru) and additional plots in Mareuil-sur-Aÿ, Bisseuil, Avenay, Hautvillers (Premier Cru), and Chavot, Sézanne and Gyé-sur-Seine (other crus). The vineyards are largely planted with Pinot Noir, supplemented by Chardonnay for freshness and Pinot Meunier. The land is known for its chalk soils, which contribute to the powerful and structured style of the champagnes.

Winemaking: Henri Goutorbe belongs to the Récoltant-Manipulant (RM) category, which means the champagnes are made 100% from its own grapes. The winemakers follow sustainable practices; the estate is certified under the Haute Valeur Environnementale (HVE) standard and Viticulture Durable en Champagne (VDC). The bottles are aged on the lees for at least three years to develop depth and balance, with an emphasis on authenticity and expressing the terroir.
