Champagne​‌​ Hazard-Devavry is a champagne producer based at 1 rue de Courtigy, 02330 Condé-en-Brie, in the Vallée de la Marne region, about 50 km from Reims and 70 km from Paris.

History and Location

The business is an EARL (agricultural company) that was founded on 1 August 1991. The head office is in the picturesque village of Condé-en-Brie (Surmelin valley), while winemaking takes place in the family cave in Monthelon. The owners, Christine and Michel Hazard-Devavry, receive visitors for tastings in their salon in Condé-en-Brie.

Vineyards and Grape Varieties

The vineyards cover about 4 to 6 hectares and are spread over several communes around the Vallée de la Marne and the southern slopes of Épernay, including Monthurel, Leuvrigny, Vauciennes, Cumières, Monthelon and Mancy. This diversity of soils and locations produces balanced cuvées. The grape varieties are:

Winemaking

The grapes are pressed at the cooperative of Monthelon, after which the bottles are taken to the family cellar in Monthelon for the traditional manual operations: riddling, disgorgement, dosage, corking, finishing and packing. The wine is produced with respect for tradition, with an emphasis on natural blends and constant quality thanks to the variety of plots.
