Champagne E. Rigollot is a family business based in Bergères, in the heart of the Côte des Bar, with a winegrowing history going back to the 17th century. The current estate was officially founded in 1970 by Claude Rigollot and in 2009, under the leadership of his son Emmanuel, adopted the name Champagne E. Rigollot to establish a modern and distinctive identity.
The vines cover about 7 hectares and are planted on Kimmeridgian clay-limestone soil, a terroir comparable to that of Chablis. The grape varieties are dominated by Pinot Noir (50%), followed by Pinot Meunier (30%) and Chardonnay (20%). For more than 15 years the estate has followed a sustainable viticulture approach and is certified HVE Level 3 (Haute Valeur Environnementale) and VDC (Viticulture Durable en Champagne).
Vinification takes place entirely in stainless steel tanks with controlled temperatures, with malolactic fermentation applied. The champagnes are kept on the yeast for an average of 4 years, resulting in complex flavours. The range includes the Brut Tradition (with 7 g/l dosage), a 100% Pinot Noir Rosé, a Blanc de Blancs (100% Chardonnay) and the exclusive Terroir Vieilles Vignes from 2006, which has aged for 16 years on the yeast.
