Champagne Dautreville is a récoltant-manipulant based in Jouy-lès-Reims, a village in the Montagne de Reims classified Premier Cru. The estate has been managed by the Dautreville family for four generations, with a recent focus on ecological sustainability.

History and Operations

The business has been run since 1998 by Stéphane Dautreville, who took over from his father Jean-François. He works together with his wife, who is involved in vinification as œnologue, to create authentic and powerful cuvées. The estate is known for its respect for the environment and biodiversity.

Vineyards and Approach

The family business owns a vineyard area of 5 hectares. The approach is strongly environmentally conscious, using organic fertilisers, minimal use of chemicals and sowing grass between the rows. In October 2020 the official organic conversion began, after having already worked sustainably for years. The estate has been certified to the HVE (Haute Valeur Environnementale) and VDC (Vert Durable) standards since 2018.

Champagnes and Wines

The range includes various cuvées that reflect the typicity of the Montagne de Reims:

Champagne Réserve: An Extra-Brut and Demi-Sec (bottle only) based on Pinot Meunier, fruity and versatile.
Champagne Prestige: A Brut consisting of 70% Chardonnay and 30% Pinot Noir, partly raised in foudres.
Champagne Nature: A Brut without added dosage (dosage zéro), composed of 50% Pinot Noir and 50% Chardonnay.
Blanc de Noirs: A Brut of 50% Pinot Noir and 50% Pinot Meunier, known for its power and finesse.
Coteaux Champenois: Local still wines, including a Blanc from old Chardonnay vines (raised in oak barrels) and a Rosé of 100% Pinot Noir.
