Champagne Cuillier is a family business with a history going back to 1904, based in Brugny-Vaudancourt in the Massif de Saint-Thierry. The estate has recently moved to the historic La Grange le Comte (ancestral house from 1469) for an extensive wine-tourism experience, including visits and tastings.
The vineyards cover approximately 4.5 to 8 hectares of sandy soil (Thanetian) spread over the locations Pouillon, Trigny and Chenay. The soil, rich in sand, is ideal for the grape varieties Pinot Noir, Pinot Meunier and Chardonnay, which gives the champagnes their typical freshness and mineral character.
The approach is defined by organic farming and agroforestry under the direction of winemaker Vincent Cuillier. Work is done with indigenous yeasts, without filtration or fining, and often with zero dosage (Brut Nature) to preserve the pure expression of the terroir.
The champagne range includes various cuvées such as Heritage 1904, L'Envol de Montgolfière, Origine Brut and Rosé Brut. The house is known for its single-plot and vintage champagnes, which reflect the ecological innovation and the specific characteristics of the sandy soils.
