Champagne By Fernand is a family business based in Moslins (51530), founded in 2013 by Vanessa and Xavier Maumy-Chapier. The name refers to Vanessa’s grandfather Fernand, who laid the foundation for their passion for the vine and nature, while the duo combine this tradition with a modern look and a fresh view of champagne.
The estate covers 6.5 hectares of vineyards spread over 10 communes in the Marne department, located between the Côte des Blancs and the Vallée de la Marne. As a récoltant-manipulant (réc. man.) they grow their own grapes and vinify their own wine, without buying in from third parties to generate volume.
The approach is characterised by authenticity and respect for the environment (Haute valeur environnementale). The champagnes are produced with minimal or no added sugar (sans surdosage), which leads to a lively terroir and unique flavour profiles that vary every year. They use five rare and traditional grape varieties that express themselves freely in bottles with a cheerful and modern design.
Visitors are welcome for cellar visits and tastings (Monday to Sunday, 10:00 - 18:00). The wine bar and address details can be found at 6 Rue de la Boulangerie in Moslins.
