Champagne Bolieu is a family house in Bassuet, in the Coteaux Vitryats in the south-east of the Marne.
- History: The name Bolieu combines the family names Baffard, Ortillon and Beaulieu; the house was formed from the merger of these three families. Laurence and Charles Baffard, the third generation, took over the estate in 1998.
- Vineyards and terroir: The estate covers about 6 hectares, mainly planted with Chardonnay, on the slopes around Vitry-le-François. The soil is chalk with clay inclusions.
- Winemaking and style: The house works with methods that respect the environment. For the Fleur de Craie, around 10% of the wine is vinified in oak casks and the rest in stainless steel.
- Cuvées: The range comprises Fleur de Craie (Chardonnay), L'Instant B (a blanc de blancs with no dosage), Pepin de Vigne (Pinot Noir and Chardonnay), Cordon de Rosé and Carnet de Leone (Extra Brut).
