About Champagne Gardet
History Maison de Champagne Gardet was founded in 1895 by Charles Gardet, an enterprising former shopkeeper, initially in Épernay. In the 1930s his son Georges Gardet moved the maison to Chigny-les-Roses (Montagne de Reims) to develop the brand. For several generations the family business has been run by the Prieux family, who combine a philosophy of respect for tradition with modern technology. The village of Chigny-les-Roses
Chigny-les-Roses lies on the northern flank of the Montagne de Reims, between Rilly-la-Montagne and Ludes, a short distance from Reims (Marne department). The village has Premier Cru status.
