Voipreux is a small village in the Marne department, close to Vertus on the southern tip of the Côte des Blancs, south of Épernay. The village has Premier Cru status.
The vineyards around Vertus and the surrounding villages lie on a chalk subsoil with a thin layer of fine clay. Chardonnay is the main grape in this area, alongside a smaller proportion of pinot noir. The champagnes are generally fresh and refined, with the chalky purity that characterises the Côte des Blancs, and lend themselves well to blanc de blancs.
Champagnes made from grapes from Voipreux may bear the Premier Cru designation on the label.
