Villevenard lies in the valley of the Petit Morin, on the border between the Côte des Blancs and the Sézannais (Marne department). The commune has no cru status.
The Petit Morin wine area has a cool microclimate; mist and cold air from the marshes make the slopes susceptible to spring frost. In Villevenard, Meunier and Chardonnay are grown side by side, in roughly equal proportions.
- Producers: the Nominé-Renard family estate, run by Claude Nominé and his son Simon, works slopes in the Petit Morin, the Sézannais and the Marne valley. Lysiane Moncourant also makes champagne here.
