Villers-Allerand lies on the northern flank of the Montagne de Reims, between Rilly-la-Montagne and Montchenot, south of Reims (Marne department). The village has Premier Cru status.
- Vineyards: the slopes rest on chalk, with a predominantly northerly aspect. Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier are the main grapes, complemented by Chardonnay.
- Character: fresh, structured champagnes with the cool tension of the northern Montagne.
- Producers: the village has few well-known brands of its own; the grapes are largely sold to houses and cooperatives.
Villers-Allerand lies on the edge of the forest of the Montagne de Reims, close to the road from Reims to Épernay.
