Oiry lies on the northern edge of the Côte des Blancs, east of Chouilly and Épernay, on the plain towards Plivot (Marne department). The village has Grand Cru status.
- Vineyards: Oiry is one of the smallest Grand Cru communes. The vineyards are largely flat, on chalk, and are planted almost entirely with Chardonnay.
- Character: the champagnes are fine, fresh and somewhat softer than those from the slopes of Cramant and Avize.
- Producers: the village has few champagne houses of its own; the grapes go largely to the major houses and cooperatives, which value them as Grand Cru Chardonnay for their blends.
