Champagne Nicolas Gueusquin is the brand of the company Les Roches Blanches in Oiry, at the entrance to the Côte des Blancs. Nicolas Gueusquin, an agronomic engineer from ENSA in Dijon (1991) with an MBA from Reims (1992), founded Les Roches Blanches in 1994 in Dizy, after positions at UNCAA and at the Banque Populaire Lorraine Champagne.
History
In 1996 the company bought old cellars in the centre of Dizy in order to produce, bottle and sell its own champagne. A new building followed in 2005, then in 2012 a larger production site in Oiry; in 2016 the fermentation cellar moved there as well.
Approach
The company owns 10 hectares of vines spread across the Champagne region. The grapes are hand-harvested in September and fermented in Oiry in 88 temperature-controlled stainless steel vats, followed by malolactic fermentation. Oenologist and cellar manager Marjorie Navarre creates the blends. Most of the production is sold through supermarkets, and more than a third goes to export.
Champagnes
The range comprises Tradition, Premier Cru, Demi-Sec, Blanc de Blancs, Rosé, a Millésime 2011 and the Cuvée Prestige.
