La Celle-sous-Chantemerle is a small village in the Marne department, in the far south of the Sézannais, south of Sézanne. It lies close to the border with the Aube and Seine-et-Marne departments. The village has no cru classification.
- Location: the vineyard slope looks out over the vast chalk plain of Champagne, with a wide view from Sézanne towards Nogent-sur-Seine.
- Vineyards: as in the rest of the Sézannais, chardonnay is by far the most important grape here.
- Character: the champagnes are ripe and fruity, with a round, approachable style that suits the chardonnay of the Sézannais. Blanc de blancs is common here.
- Producers: the village has a few small family businesses, including Pierre de Charme and Pierre Jamain.
