Hermonville lies in the Massif de Saint-Thierry, north-west of Reims (Marne department). The commune has no cru status.
- Vineyards: the Massif de Saint-Thierry has sand- and clay-rich soils over the chalk. Pinot Meunier is the main grape, alongside Chardonnay and Pinot Noir.
- Character: the champagnes are fruity and fresh, with a supple, approachable style.

The Massif de Saint-Thierry owes its name to the abbey of Saint-Thierry and lies on the tourist champagne route of the Massif de Saint-Thierry and the valley of the Ardre.
