Champagne Saint-Chamant
Champagne house in Champagne.
Champagne Saint-Chamant is the brand under which Christian Coquillette sells his champagnes. The house has its head office in Épernay, on the avenue Paul-Chandon, and its production facilities in Chouilly.
- History: The estate and the brand were created in 1950. Christian Coquillette joined his mother on the estate in 1951, at the age of eighteen. He is the father of Stéphane Coquillette, who runs his own estate in Chouilly.
- Vineyards and terroir: The vineyards cover 11.5 hectares, spread over the slopes around Épernay and the Côte des Blancs.
- Approach and style: The house is known as a Chardonnay specialist; blanc de blancs make up most of its production. The Carte Or carries no vintage but may come from a single harvest.
- Cuvées: The range includes the Blanc de Blancs Carte Or, the Cuvée de Chardonnay, a vintage blanc de blancs and a rosé of about 90% Chardonnay with 10% Meunier for colour.
