Champagne Richard-Fliniaux is a traditional champagne house based in Aÿ Grand Cru, founded in 1905 and currently run by the mother-and-son duo Nadège and James Richard-Fliniaux. The house is known for the use of ancestral methods and the production of champagnes that come entirely from their own Grand Cru vineyards in Aÿ, a region that has been part of the UNESCO World Heritage since 2015.
The family's history goes back to 1905; Nadège took over the inheritance from her father in 1997, with the support of her husband Jean-Jacques (later succeeded/supported by her son James). The working method is characterised by a strict respect for tradition and the terroir. Since 2011 the family has introduced new, sometimes parcellaire and millésimée cuvées to highlight the singularity of their land. Visitors can explore the estate through an exclusive eco-tour in an electric car through the vineyards of the Montagne de Reims and the Marne valley, with a maximum group size of 6 to 10 people.
The champagnes of Richard-Fliniaux include several cuvées that receive high ratings, such as:
- Divine Terre Promise d'Ageius Cuvée N°2 (Nadège Fliniaux), a millésime with a score of 89/100.
- EX 1 Expérience N°1 L'Extraordinaire Machine de Thibaut Aulien (James Richard), an Extra-Brut with a score of 88/100.
- Perle d'Aÿ, a classic cuvée with a score of 87/100.
The estate also offers specialised experiences, such as a workshop in which champagnes are paired with macarons from the Baillet d'Aÿ workshop, or tastings with biscuits roses, located at 12 Rue Roulot, 51160 Aÿ.
