Champagne Pierre Morlet is a family estate in Avenay-Val-d'Or, a premier cru village on the edge of the Montagne de Reims and the Vallée de la Marne.
- History: The Morlet family has been active in Avenay-Val-d'Or since the 19th century. Auguste Morlet planted the first family vineyard and sold his grapes to the great Champagne houses. His son Gaston created the Champagne Pierre Morlet label, named after his only child.
- Vineyards and terroir: The estate owns around 16 hectares (40 acres) of vineyards, all classified as premier cru or grand cru.
- Approach and style: The family takes a non-interventionist approach. The Grande Réserve is released at least four years after the harvest, the vintage wine after five to eight years. The house style is round and elegant, with Pinot Noir contributing notes of raspberry and violet.
- Cuvées: These include the Grande Réserve Premier Cru, a Rosé Premier Cru, a vintage Brut Premier Cru and a Blanc de Blancs Grande Réserve, according to the family the first blanc de blancs in five generations.
