Champagne​‌​ Néret-Vély is an independent wine house based in Vauchamps (Marne Valley), France, with vineyards in Festigny. The family has been a grower-producer since 1945 and built up the business from the 1980s from an original dairy farm.

History and Vineyards

• The origins lie in the 1980s, when the family decided to develop winegrowing on small pieces of land from the grandparents and newly purchased land.
• The vineyard area has been expanded to approximately 7 hectares (some sources state 5.5 ha), located in the sectors of Festigny, Comblizy, Nesle-le-Repons and Châtillon-sur-Marne.
• The grape varieties are 84% Pinot Meunier, followed by 9% Chardonnay and 7% Pinot Noir; in April 2023 Pinot Gris was also planted.

Approach

• The house practises sustainable viticulture and has been certified with the Haute Valeur Environnementale (HVE) and Viticulture Durable en Champagne (VDC) labels since April 2021.
• Traditional methods are maintained, including ploughing the soil with draught horses (since 2015) and encouraging grass cover.
• There is constant experimentation in the cellar, such as ageing Chardonnay in oval earthenware vessels for a mineral taste, and the use of WineGlobe systems.

Champagnes

The range includes various cuvées that vary in style and sugar level:

• Les Echalas: A highly praised 100% Pinot Meunier from old vines in Festigny, finalist at the Jeunes Talents du Champagne 2021.
• La Fûtée: A 100% Chardonnay that ages for a long time in oak barrels.
• Brut Blanc de Noirs and Extra Brut 5G: Blends of Meunier and Pinot Noir with low dosage (up to 5 g/l sugar).
• Sweet-Touch: Sweet versions, including a Blanc de Blancs and Rosé, with a dosage of 51 g/l.
• The cellar is open for visits, with a focus on direct sales and participation in international fairs.
