Champagne‌ Lecomte Père et Fils is a family-run business based in Vinay (51530), on the edge of Épernay, which has been producing champagnes since 1859. The fifth generation, Jérémy and Frédéric, currently runs the cellar, which was expanded by their parents Serge and Ghislaine.

History

Founded in 1859 by Gaston Lecomte, who was the first to sell bottles.
In the 1960s Serge and Suzy Lecomte took over and sold the entire harvest.
Since 1992 Serge and Ghislaine have led production, doubling turnover through expansion.
The family is père et fils (father and son), which emphasises the family succession.

Vineyards

The vineyards are located on the Coteaux Sud d'Épernay and in the Vallée de la Marne.
The soil consists of chalk, clay, marl and sand.
The grape varieties are Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier.
The estate is HVE-certified (Haute Valeur Environnementale) and practises sustainable/rational farming.

Winemaking

They produce from A to Z, from vineyard to bottle.
The cellar offers visits and tastings (by appointment, also at weekends).
They practise rational viticulture with minimal use of chemical pesticides.
The champagnes are made in the traditional Champagne style, with respect for the terroir.

Champagnes

The range includes various cuvées, including Brut, Tradition and Blanc de Blancs.
Visitors can choose from a wide selection, including Extra Brut and Blanc de Noirs.
The champagnes are known for their fruity and rich aromas.
Seven references are available, ranging from fruity to powerful.
The house style emphasises tradition and quality, with champagnes for every taste.
