Champagne Jean Pernet is a family business with roots going back to the 17th century, officially founded in 1959 by Jean and Huguette Pernet in Le Mesnil-sur-Oger. Today the household is run by the brothers Frédéric and Christophe Pernet, who have expanded production from 15,000 to more than 120,000 bottles per year, with 85% exported to more than 30 countries.
The vineyards cover 17 hectares and are located in premier cru areas such as Le Mesnil-sur-Oger, Vertus, Chouilly, Chavot, Leuvrigny and the Côte d'Épernay. The house specialises in 100% Chardonnay Grand Crus, with a focus on the prestigious Côte des Blancs.
The approach combines tradition with modernity; the champagnes are made exclusively from its own grapes. Well-known cuvées are the Blanc de Blancs Prestige (assembled from the 2015-2017 harvests, 48 months on the lees) and the Tradition, with other lines such as Camille Jacquet also existing. Visitors can visit the estate for tastings and tours.
