Champagne Fleury-Gille is an independent wine house based in Trélou-sur-Marne in the heart of the Marne Valley, on the tourist Champagne route between Reims, Paris and Épernay. The Fleury family has been active in winegrowing since 1842; the current brand name Fleury-Gille was created in 1955 by Marcel Fleury and his wife Micheline. Today the 8 hectares of vineyards are managed by Bertrand and Christine Fleury, who combine family tradition with modernity.
The vineyards lie on argilo-calcareous soils between the Marne and the forest, with an average vine age of 30 years. The estate is recognised as a Vigneron Indépendant and holds the Haute Valeur Environnementale label. Winemaking is characterised by hand harvesting, use of a traditional press (4,000 kg), natural settling, full malolactic fermentation and ageing in enamelled vats and oak barrels, sealed with UNIQ technical corks.
The offer includes a wide range of highly rated champagnes, such as:
- Absolu: A Brut Nature (BSA) of 60% Pinot Noir and 30% Chardonnay.
- Cuvée Pierre-Louis: A Brut Millésime (e.g. 2013, 2010) of 100% Chardonnay.
- Carte d'Or: A Blanc de Noirs of 80% Pinot Meunier and 20% Pinot Noir.
- Rosé: A Brut of 50% Pinot Noir and 30% Chardonnay.
Visitors can visit the estate for tours of the cellar and the traditional press, followed by tastings. The Maison Vigneronne is open Monday to Saturday from 09:00-12:00 and 14:00-17:00. Contact details are: 23 rue Pascal, 02850 Trélou-sur-Marne, telephone +33 3 23 70 83 99.
